Château de Cany in Cany-Barville, Seine-Maritime, France

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Durdent valley in Seine-Maritime, France, the Château de Cany in Cany-Barville is a historic gem. This superb building is a magnificent example of Louis XIII style architecture, it continues to fascinate historians, architects and travelers from all over the world.

Built between 1640 and 1646, the Château de Cany is the work of François Mansart, one of the most influential architects of his time. Commissioned by Pierre Le Marinier, an illustrious figure whose descendants are still the owners of the castle today, the building has remained relatively intact through the centuries, resisting the turmoil of history.

Fortunately spared the depredations of the French Revolution, the Château de Cany retains a significant part of its original furniture, which offers visitors a real immersion in the atmosphere of the time of Louis XIII. Between the stone walls and ornate ceilings, there are rich tapestries, carved woodwork and other period treasures that add to the authenticity and charm of the place.
